Hey so, our government genuinly does not want an educated population and the degradation of mental skill that you see in young people today is a direct result of carelessness from the adults that are supposed to care for them and maliciousness in policies from the government. So yeah. Can we stop blaming the kids and start helping?

There are many contributing factors to this. It’s been famously said that they’d rather have a generation of workers than free thinking individuals. Our lives have been structured that way. But we can say that many have resisted that, or at least know the truth. So, we know that it means that we still have individual responsibility in this as well. Parents of course have a huge responsibility in teaching beyond the curriculum in schools, and supplementing what is being taught. Many parents are stressed with their own worries of work, economy, bills, etc; to add the need to teach on top of this is a lot (not an excuse, but a reality). These parents are trusting that their children are actually being education at a school-what a novel idea. Even if you paid for the most expensive of schools, none of them are going to equip you with the full truth of what you’ll face in adulthood. Some will put you ahead of others as far as educational knowledge; however, I don’t think exposing the true intentions of the government is going to be part of any curriculum.
It's a known problem that the literacy rate has dropped in the last decade. I personally think it's an issue of everyone is failing these students, including the students themselves. The parents aren't equipping them with basic spelling comprehension skills prior to sending them to school or practicing with them after they're enrolled and the teachers are under prepared and overwhelmed by low wages, high expectations, and legal ramifications of overreaching. The students themselves could take initiative to correct their spelling and are intentionally choosing not too.
The problem is mostly the education system and the "leave no child behind". If I failed, I failed and got held back. From what I've heard from some teachers, a lot of schools don't give students the proper grading, so even if they don't do the work, they still barely pass.

I think they are. I won’t say they are bad students, I think students nowadays have way more distractions with phones, technology and social media, so they aren’t exactly taking their education seriously

Also, there’s no autocorrect on job applications, rightfully so
