Yes I super commute from Philly to New York. surprisingly it doesn’t suck
It must be nice to have a superpower. Even if it’s just commuting.
Britt Nolan lives in Chicago and works at McCann NY during the week. Flies home on weekends. You need two houses/apartments to make it comfortable.
I’d get a studio, if I were to do this yeah. Though I’m not even remotely close to C-suite level so I’d be even less comfortable than I already am lol
The salaries there would be a lot less affordable to live here
The irony is that because I’m paid so low here, I’d be getting a pay bump in these other markets. Although, of course, commuting costs would eat away at that bump
For a few years I had a job in NYC when living in Boston. I had to commute into the office every/other week for 2 days and usually traveled to clients in. Chicago on the other weeks. I didn’t get burned out just never really got to know anyone in Boston until I went to a Boston shop (which I hated the culture of so now I do remote for NYC agencies) though with this week’s Omnicom news who knows what that will look like — may be back to the super commute to NYC.
I know people who’ve done Philly to NYC. That’s about it. Seems like a lot.
I feel like people do that when they live somewhere cheap, it would be expensive to do that while living in NYC.
That sounds insane.
