Hi fishes Will work from home in FIS continue atleast upto Dec 2022? Any idea? FIS Global
I got offer in Bangalore FIS and my husband got an offer with one big company in Hyderabad. Both companies are currently WFH only but in future, I might have to consider moving to Hyderabad. Fis doesn't have office in Hyderabad so I was wondering if I can ask permanent WFH later. I guess I will be put in fis payment solution.
Thanks in advance. Kindly let me know. FIS Global
Thoughts??
Also, what do you prefer WFH or WFO?

You will REALLY regret moving somewhere with more than one transfer. Ideally you wouldn’t have any transfers.
I do 1 transfer but it depends on where you're living and where your office is
Age plays into it too. A transfer isn't a big problem if it's in an area you might want to meet up and hang out with people. Example - in your 20s and transferring at West 4th.
But a close transfer (one or two stops then change then two stops) might be more convenient for you than get on one train for 11 stops.
Chances are your first NYC apartment/area turns out to be the wrong choice - not many newbies indeed that get it ‘right’ the first time. And with all the moving / 12 month leases in NYC that’s ok - you just pick up your stuff after 12 months and move to the apartment/neighborhood that ís the right choice for you
I think there's a misconception that transfers make a commute more complicated. I can get to work by taking 1 train - but usually I end up transferring 2x instead, because it's actually quicker and involves less walking.
The NYC transit system is by no means the cleanest, but it's incredibly efficient. Sometimes a transfer is just a 5 second process.
That being said - look at the details in Maps. For example, transferring at Times Sq between the 123NRQW is easy, but switching from one of those to the ACE is a hassle because there's a super long depressing tunnel you have to go through. Pay attention to those details, or ask friends in NYC what a hassle that specific commute really is.
The reality is that subway or commuter train transfers are a necessity in NYC to live somewhere nice without breaking the bank, and majority of the time they're really not a big deal. Some of the best neighborhoods in this city are the furthest from where the corporate offices are. Hope this helps!
live in westchester, so i take the metro north to grand central and then hop on a subway. so one transfer.
before the pandemic, i lived in the UWS and the 2/3 took me right to my office doorstep.
like other comments said, it really depends on where you live. but anything one transfer or less is pretty seamless IMO
Most newbies spend a year figuring out their tolerance and relocate as needed.
Really depends. I live less than 10 blocks from where I currently work, so zero transfers even if I don’t feel like walking. Last job I had required a transfer since it was a lot further from where I lived.
I used to live in Brooklyn and commute into Manhattan. My limit (before I moved out of New York entirely) was just one transfer once arriving in Manhattan
I transfer once but it’s the same platform so very easy. I live and work in Manhattan and my commute is 25-30 mins door to door. That’s my limit.
