What is the difference between a Software Engineer I and II? When do you know you're ready to leave your first great SE job? Is there a way to get more money without leaving? Hi all - I am looking to move into the world of brand strategy consulting (KPMG has customer consulting division but brand and marketing aren't that strong. Also KPMG UK is the only one of big 4 that has not bought an agency!!). Wanted to hear some advice on the options: go to a boutique (like Lippincott, Prophet) or brand agency? After the final interview, HR reached out and said they would like to extend an offer. HR gave a ball park of 135k - 145k base with about 15k in sign-on equity and 20k annual bonus.

After a couple of days, HR person came back with with 125k base and 20k annual bonus. No sign-on equity anymore. What should I do given that these numbers seem way lower than the initial range provided? HR claimed it’s because of “market conditions”.
