I hired a housekeeper nanny. That profile specifically exists for housekeepers who don’t mind or actually enjoy looking after kids. Of course if your kids are very young then that means you’ll have to mutually agree what the priorities of the housekeeper’s job is. Mine didn’t particularly enjoy cooking so aside from light prep of snacks & easy lunches for the kids, I did the meal prep and she did the cleaning, laundry and childcare whilst I was at work. I used an agency who were trusted, got references and spoke to previous employers. She was fantastic for our family and when we moved country she went back to the same agency who placed her in another home where she’s been for ten years. The new family are also delighted with her.
Yes. I don’t know about services but you can do your own background check. I actually asked for a referral from my handyman and ended up hiring his wife.
I haven't done this yet personally, but I have a few friends who have used care. com over the years. I'm almost positive everyone on the platform is thoroughly vetted beyond just a simple background check. I'll have to double check on that, but if so, it could be a good option.
I think that word of mouth is best when it comes to allowing someone into your home to that extent. I would start by asking any friends or colleagues if they know of someone who you can hire as a housekeeper. I think you'll find it a lot easier to go with that approach. You can't just hire anyone to come into your home.
