Do any of you know what happens if you find out mid leave that you cannot come back to the firm?
Nope, I took a sabbatical in the summer of my first year - 10 weeks. I have a friend who took one in her first and fourth years. You get paid 20% of your salary but that pretty much covers your contributions to benefit programmes.
Call the leave office. They can give you the skinny.
Yes, they are great. Firm pays 20% of your pay on a sabbatical, lets you maintain your benefits. Took one when we had a kid and have never regretted it.
Yes, I took 2 after birth of each child, in additional to paid maternity leave. It wasn't paid (I think you have to be a director or above to qualify for a sabbatical?) but definitely worth it. One was about 5m and another one 3m.
Yes. Why ? I got a sabbatical during my first year.
XLOS sabbatical isn't level dependent. Milestone sabbatical is only director/senior manager
What happened OP? Why can't you come back to the firm? I don't think anyone would do that unless you're in IFS right now...
I did. Two months right after I started to knock out the CPA exam. I wanted to take a later start date to get the exams out of the way but they needed me to start in July for 9/15 deadline so I took October and November off.
