Has anyone successfully negotiated a higher base pay or better schedule, or is it usually “take it or leave it”?

People have negotiated better salaries for themselves, but it's not something guaranteed to work. In today's atmosphere it could be difficult. With the job market as bad as it is, some employers will just say take it or leave it, as they know another candidate will come along quickly and take it.

I've gotten a little more money when I've negotiated. Never even though to broach the schedule subject. I feel like pushing for that before you've worked a day at the store is a bad look that could maybe cost you the offer.

It really depends on the company and how badly they want you. I’ve seen people successfully negotiate better pay or schedules, especially if they bring solid experience or flexibility. But yeah, some places are definitely more “take it or leave it.” Doesn’t hurt to ask though, you’d be surprised how often there’s a little wiggle room.

I’m an early startup having raised a bit of money from family and friends to help grow my business. Time is moving fast and I’m potties I won’t hit my targets and being the return back to those who invested.
Once I have used the money that’s been invested there’s no way of seeing it again and still bringing the return quick enough.

The numbers still show it’s possible, I still believe in the concept and I’m still growing, I think I just have some imposter syndrome.

Any advice?

So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. The PIP was mostly because I forgot some deadlines, but also they said I need to be more professional in emails (even though others use zero punctuation and a lot of emojis. To clients.) and simultaneously ask more questions and ask fewer questions. Should I just assume this is unattainable and look for a new job again?
