Has anyone used the Employee Assistance Programme for financial advice - if so are they any good? I'm struggling to sort out some tax issues (how to deal with one-off pension contributions, HMRC saying I owe more tax from the last FY and I don't understand why, etc.). If not the EAP, can anyone recommend a service to get basic help on financial matters without having to get a full-on financial advisor? Thanks!

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

I once asked a colleague at a radio company how much he's paid monthly, and he outright refused to tell me. In fact, he found it very odd that I asked. I later learned that he was making double my salary. I know it's not an employee's job to fix pay inequity by sharing their salary figures, but I'm still of the opinion that it helps uncover pay gaps. I have 4 yrs of exp as full stack developer and my current CTC is 15 lpa and notice period is of 3 months. I got an offer from another firm for 24lpa but they have shared the offer letter of DOJ after 2 months and asked me to negotiate my notice period or look for buyout. What should I do in this case? Should I connect with my current hr to negotiate? Cause I tried convincing the new hr to share the offer letter of DOJ after 3 months but she is not in the favour of that.

I work in FP&A consolidations at a large sell side bank. I moved internally after working in the planning group of a Working Capital Solutions business. Just joined S&C from 8 YOE in industry. Joined as M1, but was also a manager in former industry role. How soon is reasonable to be thinking about promotion Senior Manager? What kind of salary increase comes with this promotion?
