I have not worked with a coach - if that is your main goal I hope you find one!
In the meantime, you may find it helpful to listen to speakers you find effective. TED Talks, podcasts, etc. I don’t listen to anything that directly relates to my job, but I listen to people I find direct and clear. I often think of how I might respond to them or how I’d rephrase a point they made. And then practice!
Good luck!
Yes! Ted talks have such a nice showcase of differing presentation styles to learn from. Great suggestion!
You can also use AI coaches if you want to dip your toes before committing. I have the same struggle and have started down the path of using AI platforms to prepare for meetings and presentations. The AI bot gives me feedback based on my recording. I’m trying this before committing $$$$ to coaches.
I’m using Yoodli, Poised and Speeko :) also exploring Lepaya and Stimuler.
I have gotten that feedback personally too! I worked on it and it has been a great accelerator for me professionally. A lot of it is just being aware and actively working towards having a plan. DM me if you want to chat more about it
I coach with a focus on professionals. This often includes leaders working through their stress or skills, emerging leaders getting a feel for their new/upcoming role, and career satisfaction. Speaking comes up with frequency.
I’m working through my hours toward my credential, so my current rates reflect that. If you’d like to work on your speaking skills and confidence, perhaps we can work out a pro bono session to start.
Working with coaches is **never** a bad idea! I highly recommend you try it
Yes I did. Well worth it. 121 coaching on communication skills.
Read the coaching habit. Say less do more.
This is so true of me as well- just never phrased it that way! Makes sense. I am following this thread!
Have you tried toastmasters?
