USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

Has anyone had experience working for a business that helps you find consulting jobs? I recall there’s a few local and trusted firms that facilitate the client development.
I haven’t ever done anything like that, but it is definitely something I would consider in this economy. I am always looking for side hustles and ways to make extra cash. Not sure if Upwork has anything like that, but it might be worth looking. They have lots of different types of projects on there, it seems.

I will check that out! Is that like a job board or ire the roles project based ?
I've done a few contracts here and there, but I found that I was working a lot more for only a little bit of money. That might've been my fault, I should have asked for more money. But you just have to be careful with what you agreed to do and how much you agreed to do it for. Keep in mind that you'll be paying 35 to 40% in taxes for whatever you end up doing, that ended up screwing me.

That’s a good point. Taxes always get you. But then again if you’re able to write off your equipment and anything related to the job it might end up working out better from a tax purpose.
I think as long as you read your agreement you signed at your current company to make sure it doesn’t clash, I’d suggest it. Also cleaning too on the side helped me bring in money. Also part time jobs like merchandising helped me make it through also!

Merchandising? What kind of work does that entail?
