That's a good idea, but if there is no pressure from J1, you could stay on the bench. If you stay on the bench any longer will they let you go?
I am currently on bench at J1, but we get paid overtime so I am looking for a project asap. Also, I always prioritize J1 since it is where I am building my career at. If the above wasn't the case, I would sit on the bench as long as possible (since I am making myself available, but no engagements need me). At J2 they were demanding, when I was traveling, but since being remote it has cooled down. J3 the client is low-key, but a hot mess. Scheduling is always difficult so just set expectations.
