I’m sure you’re C11 and unfortunately you must be the victim of the bell curve.
1st Don’t doubt yourself.
2nd Prepare well for the outside opportunities.
3rd DON’T put your paper without having another offer in hand.
4th Always have positive thoughts. I know it’s difficult but stay positive always.
5th Even if you get laid off don’t worry. Citi will pay you 3+1 months of salary. You will definitely get something better than this.
I left Citi in 2024 with the similar situation after working there for more than 7 years. My last designation was VP there hence I know how these things work there in Citi.
I’m taking about the layoff situation not PIP. During PIP nothing will change. You’ll continue getting the salary as is.
1. I would recommend to keep looking for other opportunities and give interviews but dont put papers because they might repease you immediately.
2. Obviously layoff.
3. Not sure. Some companies may directly release you some will ask you to server 3 months notice. Most of the cases they will release you immediately as they kept you on pip.
4. There should not be any restrictions on leave.
5. No you will get salary on time.
Dev department, joined citi 5-6 months back and got judged very quickly 😬
What was your rating ? 4-4 or 4-3 ?
4-3
DM me if you need any more help.
This is the way Citi will part ways with a lot of employees this year, for no fault of theirs. Please find a job asap, join for a salary cut if need be.
Just keep working and updating manager every week on progress done. Also ask him clearly what is expected in these 3 months. Agree to finish those tasks.
Is this your first appraisal?
I’ve had a similar situation they put me on PIP without any motive I gave it a month to decide whether to quit or give some more efforts but that 1 month too they made it so unbearable and vulnerable for me. I was hell. Inspite of doing the assignments they gave there was constant nudging. I finally resigned and now my lwd is 26th Jan. I would suggest give it a try but if you have morons in your team then try to resign so you get time to study and can concentrate.
After PIP..if they ask to leave.. do we get severence pay in that case ? If yes, then should not resign.. would be beneficial if more number of years served
Dm me for a referral .. Hang in there buddy

Are you out from PIP or made victim of layoff?
Do not accept a PIP. Even if you plan to give your best during this period, the decision has already been made once they put you on PIP. Instead, resign and serve your notice period. Make sure you use that time to improve yourself or learn new skills. Do not sign the PIP document prepared by your manager, because signing it means you are accepting the PIP.
