hello everyone, I was recently let go from a position. After 10 months I was working as a bookkeeper. My previous position I was a accounts payable specialist for only 10 months. Every interview I have they question the 10 months and leaving an account payable to go back to accounts payable. what do I do? I don't quite have the experience as a senior accountant or a staff accountant trying to go back to what I know.

The most helpful would be for you to get a masters in accounting and then your CPA license. Or just the CPA license if you can. Once you have that, you'll be very hirable and earn substantially more.

Look into tax associate jobs.

Change your responses if it was not a good fit that's fine. Always stay positive about your past employer's. I would watch a few utube employment videos they do have some. They can walk you thru how to handle that question. Also talk to a recruiter or the unemployment office in your city. They are trained to help you with many job situation questions. It happened put it behind you.

Ultimately I think we will be ok, but I know he's hurting / stressed / and could use a supportive partner.

For people with Non-technical backgrounds who are now Product managers in the Tech industry, what kind of resources did you use to prep for your interviews? I've had people recommend brushing up on cracking the PM code but there's SO MUCH information out there and it's hard to figure out if I'm looking at the right thing or not. Please share resources that helped you get into PM roles (bonus points if you work at companies like Amazon and Google).
