Hello fellow women in law. I am a POC attorney in Minnesota trying to juggle work, life, and community. It feels like I’m failing in all aspects. I’m looking into options for leave but don’t think I would be able to disconnect from my community and don’t want to. It’s the work that is actually feeding me energy and hope. I’m not sure how my employer would take me spending time doing work in my community but on leave from work. Thoughts?

I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. 👉Just ask for it. Really, you would be surprised. Might be easier to switch to a new company and ask. I did that 3 years into my career.

And 🛑 wasting your time at a company that under-values you severely. Sometimes switching companies every 2 years or so will allow you to keep raising the bar for yourself.
