Best NY firms for capital markets that's not just a UW-side sweatshop? Bonus points if anyone has heard or remotely thought that the group was actually nice-ish/collegial-ish.

Cooley - more issuer side work which is interesting/motivating. People are nice. Still a sweatshop lol.

Wsgr! For same reason as the first Cooley poster.

Lol at cooley

Thanks, tally so far is:
Cooley Yes: 1
Cooley No: 1
WSGR: 1

Neither being particularly well known as cap markets bigwigs which is quite interesting, but worth looking into. Any other opinions or suggestions?

Cooley is known as a top cap markets firm, but their focus differs from a DPW or Latham in that most of their work is on equity cap markets (not debt), and issuer side. They do a lions share of top tech and venture backed IPOs.

Hey guys, so I have competing offers. One at Bank of America for 124, and one at Allspring for 110.

Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about compensation structure at Allspring, or any opinions on the culture there. I would be in Charlotte.

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.
