Hi, do recruiters ghost midway?

I've completed my tech rounds a couple of weeks back but haven't heard back from them since. The rounds generally went pretty good, can't understand why they would go cold.
Will they provide closure or should I treat it as a rejection and move on? (Have followed up over email, didn't get any response)

What's involved in a pension audit? Why am I being brought on as an extra team member just to do that for a month? Seen the same scenario multiple times now.

Has anyone left PA for a hybrid accounting/finance role? It definitely sounds interesting to me, but I want to avoid ending up in a role performing 2 roles for the salary of 1!
