I recently gave my consent for background verification (BGV) at HCL, and my HR discussion happened quite a while ago. However, I still haven't received my offer letter.

I wanted to check with others who have been through this process—how long does it usually take for HCL to complete BGV and release the offer letter? Also, should I wait for the offer letter before resigning from my current job, or is it safe to put in my notice now?

Would appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Capital one offer extended & accepted. Background check is complete and marked as “eligible” by the background check company. It was delivered to Cap1 2 days ago. Shouldn’t I have heard back by now? I’m waiting to get info on my start date and equipment etc. Should I reach out?

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and previous roles.

Just venting. College friend (same ethnicity but came to US with family as a kid) told me she might get a new job offer w a smaller firm, 50% pay bump. We currently work at comparable big firms but her pay is already higher than mine (hers include stocks, mine doesn’t). We did equally well in college & I know I’m just as smart. Can’t help but feel like my career’d have been much better if I did not need sponsorship. Smaller firms don’t sponsor so I work at a big firm but pay isn’t great 🙄

Do Risk assurance and advisory first year partners make the same amount?

My manager says they will retain me by providing the same offer what I got in Infosys, i have put my resignation and my manager is calling me on weekly basis and saying that he is talking with senior leadership. Will TCS retain me? Suggestions please. I heard TCS has stopped allocating funds for retaintion is that true?
