I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.
Cheers to the long Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸🥃🙌🏼

Congratulations on the upcoming interview.
I would expect questions in following categories, may not be in same order:
A. What is your recruitment process from the time you get a new req? Be ready to dive deeper on one or two specific points such as recruiter screening to improve quality at top of funnel, sources channels or closing scenarios.
B. What roles have you successfully recruited on? Any cloud tech roles, if so what seniority, locations and specific tech (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Oracle or multi-cloud).
C. Challenges faced, Response rates, conversion rates across funnel etc
D. Success and failures - specific examples.
E. Time to fill. Bottlenecks in the funnel. Specific examples of inclusive hiring. HM collaboration evidence such as closely working by giving updates, be transparent, strategies together, coaching HMs, especially new ones on industry best practices to provide best candidate experience.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Thanks a lot putting this together, helps a lot :)
Congrats - that's very exciting! Depends on the VP - I worked with some who were more technical than people focused and vice versa. But a few I can think of are:
1. What is your understanding of cloud operations and architecture, how well versed are you in technical recruiting for other technical roles like engineer, architects, data or principal technical roles? (checking for technical chops and hiring experience)
2. Give me a 5th grade level summary of cloud architecture and a developers core responsibilities (checking knowledge, base level tech proficiency and ability to simplify info)
3. What is your hiring strategy for the cloud practice if we're looking to scale the business in "chose topic or role" area this year? (focused on high-level strategy, metrics, time to fill, reporting)
4. How do you handle technical or practice specific questions that you don't know about or don't have an answer to? (checking ability to operate in ambiguity, how you seek to clarify information you don't know, and if you fib or follow up).
I would make sure you come armed with some good questions for the business leader(s) as well:
1. What is your focus in hiring manager calls so that I can best screen for the right fit? Technical or people focus? etc.
2. What is your goal (overall or for this role) and how does it fit into the business' broader overall goals and direction.
3. What is a culture fit to you?
4. How best can we collaborate on challenges or roadblocks, generally or specific to a role/candidate?
5. How can I best build trust with you and leadership, to make me most effective in this role?
Good luck and you got this!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to jot down all the prospective questions. This is extremely helpful and much appreciated.
Chief
A VP will usually test how you think rather than what you memorise. I would expect questions about how you manage stakeholders, how you build trust, and how you translate business strategy into hiring outcomes. Clarity and calm land well.
Thanks a lot for your time :)
