I've found being likeable and showing that you can find the answer even if you don't know it - is the most important element of being in a higher tier security field. The job interview will devolve into talking about non-job related topics if they really like you, because they appreciate the answers they are getting.
Beyond the basics, I’d recommend brushing up on industry-specific security trends and tools the company might use. Be ready to discuss how your skills align with their security needs, especially if you’ve worked with compliance or risk management before. Showing familiarity with company and their values, expertise is definitely at the top of the list of priorities
If you can check out the hiring manager. Sometimes they will have written blogs or articles worth mentioning. Especially if they have a tech background.
Don't be shocked to find tech that was end of life 10 or more years ago. If you've got a background in Lotus Notes, its may just land you that job!
