I’d think $80-90K is a very reasonable ask. When I was a service manager, managing about 23 direct reports, I was making $95K plus bonus in the Midwest back in 2018.
We just hired a service manager and most applicants were seeking $90-115K. Our target salary for the role was $90-100K.
Your current salary seems very low to me. I was making 65k (plus a bonus of up to 10%) in an analyst level role in managed services back in 2016. A colleague with more experience was making 75k in the same individual contributor role. And this was working for an outsourcing (read: low paying) company in Ohio.
Sounds like I’m in the wrong field lol
