Some client managers have too much time so they interview resources. They would question more on real time issues project might face & your approach to solve them. It might be more on business process & communication than ur tech knowledge. Prepare accordingly & answer confidently. In case you don't clear, you will be allocated to another project.. That's it. Urs is not a project specific hiring..right
In my 6y i had 4 client interview, they are just wanted to know about you and your skill set.
1. Communication : so that they understand your english
2. Your understanding on any task
3. Sometimes technical question, if you will be working under or with client
Dont worry it will be very easy just be confident and speak softly
Few customers insist on interview. I don't think it will be too tough. I have gone through customer interview for many of the roles I have played in Wipro. And I have cracked all of them. So nothing to be worried about. Just give your best.
Don't be too casual and talk professionally.
Also it depends on geography of customer as well. Which customer are you referring to ?
I also have customer round before hr round.
For me client is VISA.
Can you tell me what will be difficulty level for it??
Don't think about client interview if u not able to clear it, u will get another interview. So, just enjoy ur free pool period.
I have attended client interview last week after joining in a new company.
It will not be full technical round. They wanted to know ur communication skills and confidence level.
Even if they go technical. It will be basics and you can clear them easily. Elaborate Ur previous project and Ur roles and responsibilities to buy out some time..
I did the above and cracked it.
Even I was nervous but it's okie.. it all part of a process ..
All the best..
It will be just a technical discussion.
If your manager wants to keep you, he can insist the client to take you even if your client round wont go as planned.
In worst case, you can forget this project, and look for some other opportunity.
Every service based company will have client interview...and u ll get multiple projects if u fail to crack other...what's strange in this
Client interviews are very normal and way to easier then the company interviews..so don't worry...
Usually these interviews will not be too technical. These interviews or we can say discussion will to know better on what areas you have worked and have experience and most importantly, these discussions including in knowing what tools you know - Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Soap, process of code commit, code review, best practices you follow, of you don't know the solution how will you proceed, how well you can manage a situation given to you. Whether you have worked on agile, etc. More of functional or managerial questions.
Customer will interview you on the skills you were hired for. So, in your case, java full stack. But from my experience, it wouldn't be a full fledged interview.. they will mostly be asking you questions on the type of requirement they have in the project amd will be assessing if you have required skills to be a part of the team. They don't need you to know the answer to everything but will mostly want to see that you have the basic skills.
Your point of contact in the project should be able to help you with the type of questions to prepare and expect.
Dont worry, if they reject you, some other project will approach you.
I was also nervous but it's much of managerial than technical . If they go technical they ask only basic and problems/issues which you solved in your project.
Good luck mate ! Update once the client interview is over
Just be coool and attend... Don't worry
