Years ago I decided to open my own veterinary clinic and, according to my impression, the cost of purchasing equipment was very close to that of buying commercial premises. So, in my opinion, it is the purchase of specialized equipment.
Equipment is a big upfront cost, so is any work you made need a lawyer for. Salary is the one that new business owners often don't factor in the way they should. Not only are you paying the salary or wage, but you're also starting a business in an industry with a severe staff shortage. That means enticing possible hires with perks and signing bonuses.
Equipment is certainly expensive, but you can start by buying the basic material and save money to buy later. Remember that starting your own business is not as easy as many make it out to be, so start slow, don't get overwhelmed. All great businesses started small at some point.
