Honest question for HR folks in tech and finance.

Do 6–7 rounds of interviews, case studies, coding sessions, and take-home projects actually lead to better hires?

By the time round 6 comes around—usually 7–8 weeks in—I’m already burnt out.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to hire after 3–4 solid interviews and see how someone performs in the first 60–90 days in contingency?

It comes off to me when there are extensive rounds, that leadership struggles to be decisive and recognize talent so they throw all these loops in to try so they can ensure they’re making the right choice when in reality the case study you made me do in 48 hours when I work full time is no where near my capabilities and is just disrespectful of my time

It leads to less blame being placed on HR if the new hire sucks.

Most companies giving you 6-8 rounds of interview are copying tech without clear rhyme or reason.

That's why you have dumb leet code questions that you have to memorize basically to pass.

If they can't make a decision within 3-4, the juice is not worth the squeeze

Hey everyone! I’m considering an offer in the hardware group working on AR/VR products and the compensation is very heavily stock based so I wanted to get opinions on how risky do you think it is?

Especially curious how y’all felt when the stock fell more than 50% this year and did Meta do anything for the employees in order to make up for that huge loss?

Thanks!
