How do you ask to see your future workspace before saying yes to a job? I previously worked in a windowless room with bad lighting, and it was miserable. Now that I'm looking for new roles, workspace quality has become very important for me. If I have to be in the office full-time, I need to make sure I’m not stuck in a basement. Is there a way to bring this up without sounding high-maintenance?

Senior attorneys at v100, how common is it for attorneys who start at small firms to lateral to biglaw? Have you worked with any? Conventional wisdom is always that if you don’t start there it’s hard to “trade up”. My coworker and I just did it to two different great v30 firms, and I’m wondering if it’s really that uncommon? Just out of curiosity. We’re not special counsel with special niche skills or anything, just associates. Pitfalls to beware? Positives?

I did retail in college and that probably isn’t so smart right now. Neither is working at a restaurant. I don’t think I can go back and live with my parents. I feel like I’m stuck.
