For the people who went back to school to pursue a totally different career, what did you do for work? I don’t think I’d be able to do both my current job and school. I did retail in college and that probably isn’t so smart right now. Neither is working at a restaurant. I don’t think I can go back and live with my parents. I feel like I’m stuck.

In the middle of this, bachelors in management going back to school for CS

Part time so keeping current job

Suck it up and move in with parents.

Hmm. No sure about side work that aligns directly. That’s awesome about switching careers to PT work. I’ve been having regrets about not doing PT of the sorts. I sit behind a desk way too much and want something more active. Obviously you don’t want part time school, but maybe start that way until you get your feet under you—at least until your clinicals, when you’ll have no chance of work & school. Check small businesses to see if they need freelance work, a lot struggle with bookkeeping.

I was an insurance agent. Started at PwC while in my junior year of a dual major.. accounting and finance. Continued on for an MBA. I'm in tax and it wasn't pretty going through peak season and school. I lived 110 miles from the office too.

Sucked but glad I did it. You can too!

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

Closing on my first home. Advice for anyone with student loans in administrative forbearance per the Cares act: once your offer is accepted have you student loan servicer put your account back in repayment status.

Accounts in forbearance, even administrative forbearance, are calculated at a higher monthly payment by the underwriter.

My fictitious debt to income ratio was too high for them to approve me, and it took seven days for my loan to be officially back in repayment. So just a heads up.

Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?
