Standing desk + frequent laps around the office + as much exercise as I can fit in outside of work. Weights and cardio 4x a week and 10,000+ steps/day. It won't completely counteract how sedentary the job is, but it helps.
I definitely need to get a standing desk, at least for when I work from home. I always make a point of getting steps in throughout the day but things always get busy.

Someone told me once that our job is equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day because of how bad sitting is for you. I try to get lots of laps if I can and do a standing desk but super curious if others have better solutions
Honestly that’s probably true. Sitting, especially for a long day, is so bad!
Well what did you chiropractor recommend?? I’m genuinely curious too have been noticing the same thing
He said there isn’t a great answer other than aiming to sit less, make sure posture is good, the chair has adequate lumbar support, and listen to your body to notice when you’re in pain or tense.
I make a conscious effort not to sit for too long. I haven't gone for the standing desk yet, but I make sure I move around at least every hour. I have a friend who works from home and sets a timer on her phone for every 45 minutes. When it goes off she gets up and dances around her living room. I'm considering it!
That’s a great idea! An alarm would be a great way to do that.
Trying to find more time to stand during the day, I’ve identified a few recurring meetings that could be done as walking meetings. Obviously not every meeting can be done this way, but good to think about if possible.
Your biggest mistake was going to a chiropractor then not real doctors. I know this cause I’ve got several chiropractors in my family and they’re all scammers, but I don’t get a lot of chances to get up during the day so I try to get my exercise in before I start my work or go for a walk or jog after hours, but that’s just me
