Even if you aren’t boxing up your crystal farm yet assume everyone knows your movements (…you are a Partner, after all!). Most of your « job interviews » are better explored as market reconnaissance —a partner responsibility on the supply side as well as the demand side — you always have look to supplement your team with hiring a dozen partners from X (you wouldn’t be there unless it was a good company). You’re a partner — if it’s of value to you it’s probably of value to your Firm—even/especially if you leave. It’s your shop, Partner, so behave the way you want others to behave (e.g., don’t expense the trip)
The people on the other side of the table know to be discreet. Call up people in your network and let them know you’re looking at the market.
