Leasehackr
The secret to getting a good lease is drafting the deal yourself and sending it to multiple dealers. If you ask a car salesman to give you a quote, you’re going to get something terrible off the bat and it’s a much harder place to negotiate from. That being said, some brands are pay to play and you either need to be willing to pay what they want or find something else (e.g., Porsche, Land Rover)
You need to be extremely specific. “I want this exact car with this exact discount before any incentives. The residual and money factor are xyz, and this is what my trade is currently worth. This results in a monthly payment of $xyz with first month payment and fees paid at signing. If you agree to this deal I’ll come in today and sign.” You should be able to find the money factor and residual value for almost any car on Edmunds
I cannot stress and recommend leasehackr forums enough. I used their service to buy a car (not lease) but it was an incredible experience. I paid a guy $700 and he saved me $7000 (10%) off MSRP on a BMW.
So you go on leasehackr forums and then you have to find someone who operates in your brand of car + your local area. They will do all the negotiations for you. I had such a stellar experience, I will be using this service for all my life (I actually was calling dealerships and trying to negotiate myself before leasehackr)
Very similarly, there is also DelivrdToMe (they have a similarly named IG account where you can see the guy at work). I only found out about this company after I bought my car so I didn’t use them but you may want to check them out as well, and see how they compare to your local leasehackr guy
Totally agree. DelivrdToMe charges $1000 flat unless he has bumped his price as his page got more popular. There are also a bunch of brokers that hang out in the leasehackr forums who have pretty great deals. If you have time to work your own deal I would do that, but if you prioritize spending as little time as possible on finding a car, just use a broker.
I use Leasehackr marketplace to understand what a good deal looks like then try to replicate a similar deal on a unit I want. If you’re OK with how a broker’s ‘in stock’ units are spec’ed, then that’s a pretty painless route to go.
Get a quote from leasehackr and ask the local dealer to match. Don’t fall into the salespersons “how much are you willing to spend a month” bs. The clown changed the lease from 2 to 3 years and told here you go, it fits your budget now.
