I’ve been waiting for a post like this! I’ve always loved the gaydon era Aston’s and now they’re actually affordable. Easy to find a reasonable v8/db9 for the 40-50k range. Was looking for an early v8 vantage but I actually found a 2009 dbs for 70k (90k miles lol) and scooped it up. and besides like 5k in initial maintenance it’s been solid (mechanic said the engine is in excellent shape). Believe the engines are excellent it’s all the electronics, Amenities and the clutches that break. Can’t go wrong with a NA v12 since they’re a dying breed.

This is a lot more doable than expected 😂

I am aware they’re not particularly reliable vehicles. Am willing to wrench on my own and deal with occasional headaches.
RUN as fast as you can away from that money trap!
Timeless design. Have you seen Tarvarish’s V8 Vantage videos on YouTube? He racked up a big repair bill after buying a used one.

a British money pit might add some excitement to my life tbh
I went through the process two years ago for a 2008 v8 vantage. Super great car, relatively reliable for what it is, but when they break they are expensive.
Just be sure you are buying one that has been properly taken care of with no accidents
A Maserati 4200/GranTurismo or Bentley Turbo R are also right answers

A facelifted Arnage is also on my “stupid purchase” list

I was Into these at one point, then I saw that a windshield replacement was about $25k

Driving without a windshield could be fun 🤔
Went through the same process and ended up with an F-type. It's not an Aston, and it's still so what expensive, but the actual driving experience is better IMO.
The most magestic car.
