I was in this situation years ago after a layoff in 2008, the year the economy crashed and there were few jobs. I was under consideration for a great job in a state halfway across the country. The next step was to fly out. After much angst, I withdrew my candidacy. 1) I didn’t want to leave my state and my family 2) I was a year into my relationship with my now husband and I didn’t want to leave that behind 3) I decided eventually, the right job would come around and I decided to trust myself that I would make the right decisions and be able to pay my bills. I made the right decision for me and prioritized my personal life knowing that family is forever and companies offer you no loyalty. It was too big of a move to make. I still razz my husband/then boyfriend about not begging me to stay at the time. He said “you need to do what’s best for you.” lol 😂 so funny to think about now. Good luck to you!
