How many work outfits do you guys have? I’ve been a remote associate now moving to four days a week in office and I’m buying some new clothes. But I’m not sure how much I should buy. How often is reasonable to repeat?

I would say 2-3 weeks of non-repeat, but you could wear the same black pants, blazer, sheath dress with a different cardigan within that time.

I repeat in the same week, though usually with a physically different copy of the same shirt because im lazy with laundry. I just really like my white button down and tan pants. It's neutral and blends in. People joke sometimes that's all I wear but I laugh with them. Why yes, I do own like 5 versions of this same exact shirt in the same color, and 5 more in a slightly different color. If it's a basic/uniform like that you could just play it off that way. Ymmv. I'm in IP and no one really cares about clothes.

Basically 5, repeated each week. It saves so much brainpower not to have to think about my outfit.

I’m in three days a week and have about four outfits for the office. I work with men (small office) and they don’t notice repeats.

Men have closets like a cartoon character, they basically wear the exact same thing every single day and no one says anything. As long as your clothes are clean no one will notice repeats.

What is the dress code of your office? 4-5 bottoms, 4-5 tops, 3-4 blazers/cardigans is what I should suggest working towards initially.

There are some good instagram accounts that teach on building a capsule wardrobe. I’ve heard good things about MM LaFluer’s capsule wardrobe service but I think it runs about $1k

I loooove getting my work clothes at Express, they always have super nice comfy slacks and always have sales. They’re trendy skinny but not tight more like straight leg and my go to is a loose button up with some cute heels and sometimes I’ll throw a cardigan over my button up. I also love Express dresses but getting ready for work in the morning is like my highlight.

I’m a second year BigLaw associate that pays market. I was offered the position at a modified salary and hourly expectation due to their expected work flow needs. I’m wondering what is the best way to approach the topic of getting on the full salary/hours. Do I wait until the bonuses are given at the end of my first year? Or bring it up at mid-year review? I won’t have any problem meeting my hourly so I’m starting to think I’m being underpaid. I’ve been reading on here that not meeting
