Do not offer a price. Provide the scope. Take a look at their portfolio. If you like their work, ask them to provide you with a quote. And either accept their quote or not. In those situations, I usually find that the junior designer has underestimated their value. And I often end up paying them a little bit more because the work is good. Your mileage may vary.
Finally somebody that isn’t a cheapskate or trying to punch down on those they inquire to do biz with.
Just logos hey
I guess you need to ask yourself how much “just a logo” is worth to you
$1500… at least, make that your starting offer and be okay if they go up. No more than $2000. HOWEVER, your company is already racking in millions or close to that. Then offer $5000 and be okay with $10,000.
I’m being serious. People undervalue the power of a logo. And depending on how much money you make as a company should reflect what you’re offering.
Also if you’re planning on having digital meetings, a few rounds of revisions etc. keep that in mind. All of that is time and effort beyond the hours put in for the logo.
And trust me. If you offer or accept anything under $1000, you’re risking not paying enough for someone to actually give af about your branding. The money makes people work harder and more efficiently depending on how much it is.
$2500
Why are you letting a junior touch something like that? The logo is second to the name in branding importance.
anonymous CD 2, you have no idea where I am. weird thing to say.
look, we’re fighting the same fight. you’re defending brand equity that isn’t yours. I’m defending a dying craft. I feel like you lost the plot from OPs original question and seem pretty bent on design strategy superseding anything else. which is fine. I disagree with OPs approach to getting some logos done up (which we agree on, clearly) but brand strategy does not—cannot—exist in the vacuum that is this fishbowl post. hope you enjoy the rest of the day 🤙
Many dollars
Make sure you include either a royalties clause or a universal release. A good lawyer should be able to do the math on the long-term value of a logo. Proving revenue by its use isn’t super easy to prove…but it’s super-hard to disprove too.
I'll do it for $1,000
A buck three-eighty.
Just use AI. I’ve picked AI stuff over what my designers put together. Unlimited options
