I am a licensed P&C agent in the business for 15 years, at my current job for 8 years. The first five years, my boss gave me a generous annual bonus, which did increase year over year. The agency was sold 3 years ago and my boss factored my bonus into my salary. Other than that I have received no raise or even cost of living adjustment. I do receive quarterly bonuses based on production and a small year end bonus but I want to ask about a raise and I’m not sure how to start the conversation.

If you haven't had a raise in three years it's a good time to bring it up. Start off by noting that it's been three years, and pivot into a conversation about how you're a productive employee and you're more valuable to the organization now than you were when your salary was set. It's usually best to make it about yourself and what you bring to the table, talk about inflation or the rising cost of living can be deflected. Some companies just won't entertain a discussion about living expenses and such.

Anybody know salary range for VP Operations for GS in SLC?

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

How do I bring this up as the supervisor mentioned that we shouldn’t be talking about our raises.

I received a job offer from company A and am currently negotiating salary. I have an interview with company B next week and know that they offer a higher base pay. There’s no guarantee that I will be offered a job at company B but my gut is telling me that company B would be a better fit for me. Should I accept the offer from company A, continue interview process with company B and then rescind my offer with company A if company B offers me a job? Will I be burning bridges?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice
