I am not sure if I have shared this on here or not, but it is something that always gets to me. We have a tradition at our school where the eighth graders have the opportunity to choose a teacher who has meant something to them through their time at our school. After all the teachers have been picked, the option to pick closes. The remaining students are then chosen by teachers for a letter & photo exchange. All students get to take a picture with the teacher they chose or who chose them...

Finally on graduation night, at one point of the evening, the graduates go to the teacher they chose or who chose them, and the letter/photo exchange take place. It is always such an emotional moment.

I’m sure this is a lovely tradition. I’m wondering how many students are in 8th grade? Can a teacher be picked twice? Are any students disappointed they don’t get their first choice?

Since I have been there, all the teachers have been chosen by at least one student. All the office staff, and it SPO get to participate. The students know if they don’t submit their choices quickly, they'll not get a chance at their favorites. It works so smoothly because the teacher in charge is so organized. Of course, the kids who don’t get to pick because they waited, still get to participate in the exchange. I love it when you hear the kids talking about being chosen by teachers.

It looks like PWC has the “worst” paternity leave policy out of all the big 4 with only 8 weeks off then another 4 weeks at 24hrs per week. Anyone think this might change soon? EY and Deloitte give 16 weeks and KPMG gives 12 weeks.

Feedback from partners and directors needed for public accounting research question. I am curious what your feelings are on the current staffing situation in public accounting. Is there really a serious shortage in staffing? If so, do you think it is affecting the profitability of accounting firms (and/or partners individually)? And if so, what is preventing partners and directors from making changes to HR policies in response? I would love to get your thoughts and opinions on this. Thx!

Two questions: 1) Am I required by IL or DE to apply for a limited in-house license? 2) Has anyone heard of similar situations where the atty got popped for UPL?
