I can appreciate the fact that the cost of benefits (health/dental/vision premiums, 401k administration fees, etc) for which the employee must pay through payroll deduction may increase each year. Not to mention, the cost may be beyond an employee's control.

If the cost of these items are more than the salary "increase" each year, can you really call it a salary increase?

I suppose technically you could call it a salary increase. However, in reality, we are actually getting less money than we did before. It’s a cruel joke of capitalism I think.

No kidding! I used to look at my job as stable and well paying. Now I look at my job and think do I have time for a second job?

It's an expenditure that the company is not the one that increases. It would increase whether it was through the company or if you were paying on your own. This is like saying is it really a pay increase if your car insurance goes up each year? This also means the company has to pay an increase for you on their end for the insurance too.

Junior associate here (2L). Got some ‘constructive feedback’ from a 4L. We went over budget on a matter, and 4L thinks it has something to do with my inefficient delegation to 0Ls (and not the all the out of scope work the client asked us to do but doesn’t want to pay for...). Delegated tasks included basic grunt work like splitting out documents, preparing execution versions and other low-level tasks. 4L asked me to check with them before I delegate anything in the future. Thoughts?

Hey everyone! This is my first time posting but I thought I’d try to ask, I received a request from a recruiter to interview for a new insurance company I’ve never heard of: Branch. Looked it up and it seems to be a new “Techsurance” company working with both home and auto policies. Does anyone have any information they could share about this company? Thank you!

Celsius has been great (mainly for the amazing MATIC returns), but I think I will significantly reduce my holdings here.

Google "celsius badger dao"

My concern with this platform has always been how they're engaging in DeFi to make profits with customer funds. That's how they offer things like "no fees on withdrawals" and APY rates above the competition. MATIC is becoming to valuable to risk leaving on this platform.

Security wise though, I think they're great and have no concerns there.
