I finally have a real chance to get out of retail, but it comes with a pretty big pay cut. Part of me is excited about the idea of better hours, less stress, and actually having a life again, but the money side is hard to ignore. It feels like choosing between peace and a paycheck. Has anyone taken a step back financially to move forward mentally, and did it end up being worth it for you?

Both my brother and I have done this very thing. He worked himself, into a stroke, on the job, and I worked the same way until it almost took me out. We both made good money doing it.
We have taken huge steps backwards in one regard, but have found that peace of mind does not show up on a report, but the benefits are immeasurable

I haven’t and maybe I need to. I’ve steadily increased as far as salary and the work has also. I don’t know how willing I’d be to take a pay cut but I sure wish I could find a job that I enjoy and I can actually live a normal life

Balance work and family. Never get to the point a job
Is worth the money. Memories and experiences either
Family are priceless. You are irreplaceable on a job.
Family and friends who are there for you when you
had nothing and going up the ladder in a job are priceless. Money can’t buy! Especially health

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

I am a paralegal interested in making the jump from litigation to Worker's Compensation. I don't have recent experience in WC but recall it was a lot of form work. Any Worker's Compensation experts here that can offer an opinion (is it a heavy lift) and run me thru some of your daily activities? I am in New Jersey. Thanks!

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.
