I got laid off a month ago, and it's been so isolating. I realize that what I miss most is actually those small conversations at the office. It's so important to have social connection, and especially for me as someone who loves connecting with coworkers and talking about things other than work. It gives me a better understanding of life and how to live it when I see other people function in a certain way and set goals for themselves. How do you keep your social life active when you're in the never-ending phase of being unemployed?

It’s really confusing to understand your real problem. For a social connection, now you have 100% time to yourself. You can be in social groups 100% of the time as opposed to only when you woke up from your desk to get coffee.
Go out , meet with people and get a social connection.

Work to live, not live to work.. yeah 2 months of unemployment is not going to kill you, just learn to enjoy it while looking for jobs on the side.

Structure for my day was probably the hardest thing to figure out after my first few weeks. Make a schedule and include whatever you need in it. Whether that is social connecting, applying for jobs, learning, or whatever gets you through it.

I am sorry to hear that. I was laid off during the pandemic and I know how much it sucks. I would suggest finding ways to get out of the house, even if its just to go socialize at the library.

I hear OP, though. It's hard to make friends or build a community for yourself when you're older and people at work become the ones you talk to. They're not exactly your 'friends' but they do help with social connection part.

Just passed my notary public exam and going for the notary signing agent test next. I would like to gain some experience with the notary public and put the skills to the test. Does anyone have any advice regarding on how to do this? I’m trying to do this as a part/full time gig depending how it goes. I’ve heard good things and money is there. I’m trying to transition out of property management, at least the 9-5pm situation. Has anyone tried the notary signing agent gig, how has it worked out?

Has anyone ever heard of this type of real estate private equity fund structure:

-One LLC, so only one PPM
-Multiple investors that can be onboarded anytime
-Multiple investments that investors can determine whether or not they want to invest in
-One K-1 per investor based on their investments and income
-Ability for the Sponsor/Fund to invest directly, indirectly and in equity, debt, Pref, etc.
To me this seems extremely cumbersome and would require multiple classes of (cont’d)

Why don’t recruiters tell you upfront about the role they contacted you about? I had a message from a recruiter yesterday from a recruiter about a copywriter role she’s working on...

I messed up my interview with Millennium LLP for an entry level role and I feel nothing but dread right now. I believe it was my only opportunity at obtaining a high salary / profile job compared to my other options that only pay half as much. How can I accept the fact that I might not be able to start out as successful as I wanted to be? I believe it’s extremely difficult to jump between layers (E.G. Big 4 to MBB) later on in my career.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication. I have been taking 20 mg xr in the morning but have a terrible crash around 2/3pm each day where I just get very very tired. Doctor recommended 10mg ir mid day to combat but I still experience pretty severe fatigue as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has found any natural strategies to cope or mitigate. Thanks!

Meaning I have to cough up the difference or keep paying 1k a month for something we don’t need. How can I reduce this liability??
