I totally get there and just know that’s normal (especially with xr) might sound weird, but I do like 20 jumping jacks or something similar/quick just to get my heart pumping/wake me up. I also take b12 (talk to your doctor) and make sure you’re eating protein-rich food and drinking water (sometimes I forget due to hyper focusing and that causes me to get reallllly tired all of a sudden).
Also have to be mindful of what you consume. Vitamin C kills the effects of meds. Strangely, Tums amplifies it. Avoid energy drinks in the morning
I take 20mg XR too and I’ve noticed I avoid the mid afternoon slump if I do moderate exercise (really anything to get the blood pumping for 10 minutes) in the early afternoon
Drinking water has been a huge help in not crashing, here. I’m also on 20mg XR and have some 5mg IRs for longer days or days where the 20 just isn’t enough.
I will say that it took me a few months to get the side effects sorted (started meds in January). There was a pretty noticeable drop off/rebound when they wore off, headache, fatigue, etc. Figuring out the food/hydration angle made a huge difference (plus sleep and general self care).
I switched from IR to XR recently and am also noticing the afternoon crash. I’m thinking of asking my doctor for a small dose of IR to take in the afternoon. 3pm crash is not good when you’re gonna be working for another 8 hours.
I’m on 20 mg XR, down from 30 IR (two 15 mg doses taken twice per day). I think even 5 mg in the afternoon would smooth the crash.

You may need to cut back on caffeine if you kept up with your pre-medicated levels. When I was on XR I realized I couldn’t drink coffee anymore or my anxiety/exhaustion was out of control.
