Are you currently working? If not, take the job and keep looking. You may just turn out to be the perfect fit in this role. Or it’s terrible, but it’s money and experience to get you to the next thing.
I've been looking for 5 months, I'd be incredibly grateful to land anything at this point. I wouldn't overthink this. It's hard finding a job right now, any offer is better than nothing, especially if you're out of work.
Unless you’re currently working, grab it and keep looking in case it turns out to be a disaster.
Is it a full time job? If so, then yes this is a red flag. Make sure you’re not getting scammed. Was your interview over the phone, video, or in-person?
What’s the client?
If they see your value and want to snatch you up before anyone else can, why would you doubt them? I’ve secured nearly every job I’ve had this way. When people recognize that you’re exactly what they need, there’s no reason to drag out the process. If you hear “you’re hired,” isn’t that the goal? Don’t overcomplicate it, and don’t let anyone tell you to “keep looking.” Commit and move forward.
Processes exist to solve problems—once the problem is solved, there’s no need to waist time just to keep going through the process.
That makes sense, but you should also be aware that this is how a lot of people are getting scammed nowadays. Thats why I asked how the interview was conducted. If it’s a full time job and the person you spoke with wasn’t on camera or in-person, I recommend doing some sleuthing to confirm it’s a legitimate opportunity before you provide them with any personal information.
Take it then start jogging
Def for freelance never for perm.
Is it a red flag absolutely however if you’re unemployed or desperate for a job, you might as well take it and keep looking and get a paycheck but either way good luck to you
