What reason to give while rejecting any offer?
Finally picked these up after a year in storage

Hi fishes,
I interviewed with Siemens Energy for SAP ABAP position on 21st Jan. The interview went on for about an hour and in the end, the interviewer asked my expected ctc and wanted assurance if I won't negotiate on Siemens offer with some other company as i am currently serving notice period and join Siemens if provided an offer.
Till now , the HR team has not reached out to me for salary discussions and my LWD is 7th Feb. Can i expect a call or i got rejected ?Siemens

This is extremely tough. I feel for your friend. Do you have any friends, family friends, etc who are established in the medical field here in the US that you could connect him to? The match process is really complicated and not many people outside the medical community understand it...I’m sure it would be great for him to talk with a doctor here that could be a coach/mentor.
If he’s unsuccessful this go-around, maybe suggest he take a year off? Get a research job (or something else in the medical field) for year and then reapply again next year with some earnings? The match process is extremely competitive - especially for international doctors! Good luck to your friend!
Yes he is also looking for a research job as he would need J1 visa to stay in US.
I guess you can keep your friend motivated! Yes - it is (and will be) a gut wrenching process, but if he has a strong ‘why’ and a strong support system around him - he’ll get through it! I didn’t know international doctors had to pay to get matched!
It’s application fees for the programs where they apply. If someone is applying to 300 -400 programs they end up paying approximately 10k as application fees.
The matching process is so secrete. I also have a friend in this position. He gave up his medicine dream and went for his PhD it’s so heartbreaking. But she does sneak up on you when you continue to chase a process that’s not working out
My friend is also on the verge of giving up on his dream. He is very hardworking, experienced and have good scores in USMLE steps. Only luck is not on his side.
Has he applied very far and wide? It’s going to be tough to find a residency as an international student if the hospital favors MDs. Priority is generally MD > DO > international with experience as attending > international fresh grad
Maybe have him look at places:
- More in Midwest, potentially rural
- Have a significant number of DO matches, as they’re probably less stickler for US MDs only
- Consider family medicine or not competitive specialties like internal med, ER, or Psychiatry
- Not sure if he has enough time, but maybe research if he can fit it in
Thanks for detailed comment. He is MD and is US ECFMG certified. He is already applying to above mentioned residencies.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, but it seems certain vowels on your keyboard are only partially working! /s
Good luck to your friend!
