Usually when they can’t fully approve your background check themselves, they’ll ask for other forms of verification (paystubs, offer letters, tax forms, etc.). If you’re uncomfortable sending redacted paystubs, you can ask for another way to validate your work experience. Lateraling between firms is pretty common though, but this is coming from an American perspective.
I can redact them but I can also just provide an employee verification letter if it's for the purpose. I can't possibly imagine providing my current salary figures before I even got an offer.
Agree with FA - they are looking for proof of employment. I would supply the information with all the salary/taxes redacted so they don’t see what you’re making.
But why would they need last 3 paystubs? Why not just most recent? Feels to me they’re trying to verify income. Maybe that’s ok in HK?
Why do you think you would get in trouble with your current job?
I mean, it’s your paystub…you could go make 1,000 copies and and plaster it around town if you like
No problem at all. It’s part of verification and you won’t get into trouble. I have done before. As long as it’s not basis for your negotiation. Then it’s fine.
