I had the worst Monday, but I know I have more of the week left than is done. How do you set yourself up at the beginning of the week, so the week is smooth and doesn't run you ragged? I feel the need for a system that works and thought I'd come here looking for some inspiration.

I spend a lot of my weekend doing life admin stuff. Deep cleaning my house, setting out my clothes for the week, meal prepping. My week is too chaotic to not do as much as I can to set myself up for success.

Would love to hear suggestions from people. This is a week from hell for me. I'm resigned to getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep every night this week because of my workload. No other solution for me at my current workplace other than put my head down and just get the work done while dealing with the emergencies that are sent my way on top of whatever I already have to get done. Writing this as I commute 1.5 hours driving to get to my job. Sigh. Apparently I am living the American dream? I would quit, but I can't afford to.

Coming back from a tough Monday isn’t easy, but try! Whenever you get a chance, try to set up your highest priority tasks and schedule. I started using the Eisenhower matrix to sort out my work, and it’s been a great way for me to visualize.

It’s always brutal to come into the week feeling instantly behind. It’s minor, but I just try to tackle a few things to get them off the list even if they aren’t the biggest. It gets my momentum going and feels satisfying to see a few things go off the list for what I need to think about.

I also never skip time to step away for a coffee or lunch or chat with a friend. If I don’t do that the anxiety grows for me. The work will always be there, there no end in sight so I just try to make sure I take moments to recharge

Going through a rough patch, mental-health wise. I have always been a high performer and dont back down from challenges. But this past month something feels off in my head and I have 0% motivation for anything at the moment. Brief run down: work-stress, meeting expectations, fear of failure, imposter-syndrome, negative self-image (probably from all the time I spend on IG… might need therapy. 🥲
I don’t know what went wrong, but I don’t think I’m the only one to have felt this. Sorry for the sads!

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.
