Im like that almost since college. I cant tell you what could improve it because I wish I know. But you arent alone.

First of all OP, you are not alone. I’ve been like this since this time last year and the feeling of hopelessness really hit HARD around March/April this year and I’m just barely climbing out of it. Good days and bad days.
And yes, therapy might help but I’ve had a really hard time finding a therapist that I feel like I can connect with. Also the cost of it is daunting. None of the therapists that I’ve been looking to connect with takes insurance.
What has helped me is reading self help books (and really just reading in general). I tend to gravitate towards self help books that align with the areas that I’m struggling with and seeking out the books that are practical. Not just the ones that dish out a bunch of advice but not a lot of practical applications. Highly suggest reading Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle.

Thanks, OP! Happy to be a listening ear as well!
You’re not alone, me too OP.
I found meditation helped a little bit (more the mindfulness part - you can do non-spiritual meditation and such which was more of a fit for me) but it took some time.
Sending you wishes for a good rest of the day and week :) DMs are open if you need someone to talk to.

You are not alone. You’re probably burned out and need a decent break from everything. I’ve been like that for months and I’m in therapy / take meds.

We just need some decent rest. Life is exhausting sometimes. Thank you
I’m going through that as well - feeling down in general and have 0 motivation to work or perform more than I should. They say: you can’t pour from an empty cup.. my case.
I think a break would be a good idea. Take a week off summer vacation and spend time with your family
It sounds like you would benefit from therapy and or medication. Do you have a PCP you can speak to?
I have been looking into therapy. But it’s hard to take that step. I was raised in a family that wholeheartedly believes that therapy is for those who are weak/ haven’t toughened up, or for those with serious mental conditions.
So, I’m trying to start therapy on my own and no one in my family knows. It’s difficult doing what I’ve been told is a weak-willed move… but I know it’ll be bad for me if I don’t 😓
Sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way - agreed with another comment, you are not alone. I’ve found it very hard to take things seriously at work and be excited about things too. Sometimes a break (and not just a long weekend) is needed. I recommend taking a week staycation or even venturing out if it’s feasible for you! Something to clear your head and weigh what changes you could make in your life or in your mentality.
Feels to be part of the “process” unfortunately… destroy people enough to force growth or turnover
