I have a shoot coming up within the next two weeks. But I also just accepted a new job (with a semi flexible start). Do I tell my current job now, and just say screw it, I won’t go on the shoot. Or do I wait until the shoot ends and basically give notice the day after we wrap? Important factor - it’s not a shoot I’m particularly excited about. Very much not a portfolio project. I’d happily quit now, but want to avoid screwing over the team with so little time before this shoot.

Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.
