2012 Sr Associate. Left my firm in February after being recruited by a partner I used to work for, and it turns out I’m not very happy. Difficult people, terrible schedule and ruined vacations so far. A partner at my old firm in another group has asked if I would come back to work for just him. I liked working for him, we have great rapport and I could do permanent WFH since he is in another city. I don’t want to burn bridges, would this be a bad idea? Or an easy decision?

Do I accept a job position in an area that I’m unsure if I like because I haven’t really practiced in it as much but the pay is really good? 27F, 2nd year associate (no ambitions of being partner) - I’m depressed, anxious, stressed and just need a break. I’m at the point where I’m willing to quit with no other options, but want to see if theirs any safer way of taking a breath of life and grinding a little longer (I have loans, I financially support my parents, etc. ).

Anyone have any advice for someone interested in getting an MBA to either go in-house or break into securities litigation. 5th year associate here.

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I’m afraid of settling at a lower price than what they can do at the top end of the range! Do I anchor by asking for an outrageous figure or let them offer a salary figure first?
