I just found out that a new hire with less experience is making $10k more than me. How would you approach this conversation with HR? I love my team, but the math just isn't mathing right now, and I need to be making more than I was 2 years ago!

How much do you earn? What percentage does that represent? How do you know what they earn?

If you haven't gotten a raise in two years that's the main issue you need to address. Make a case to your manager that you've grown in the job and you're more valuable to the organization than you had been two years ago. As for the new hire, comparing yourself to them may not be well received. A lot of organizations won't entertain a discussion based on what someone else is earning.

This same thing happened to me last year, and I was really upset. I approached my boss and made a case for a raise. I couldn't tell her I knew people were coming in the door making more than me because I wasn't really supposed to know that. Advocate for yourself and make a case for why they should pay you more.

It’s a necessary conversation for your sanity at work. I’d probably start the conversation with my manager to understand what can be done about it.

Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. What do y’all think?

Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.

They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.

So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?
