You don’t have to tell them you are pregnant until you have the offer. They can’t ask and with Zoom it is easier to hide...
I know. I’ve been doing that. It’s just that I’m not getting many interviews either :(
Thanks!!!!!

I’m so sorry. What a huge stress to add on top of being pregnant. Is freelancing an option for you the rest of the year? Forgive me if you’ve already explored that. Trying to think through ways you can have less of a “gap”, even if it’s just to stay afloat.
I think gaps in resumes are all about how you frame it and explain it. For example, your agency role was impacted by the economic downturn, but you’re currently exploring opportunities where you can hit the ground running and add immediate value before you take a planned maternity break and prepare to return to work by X date.
Show them how you want to work now and in the future, and they may focus less on the gap you have at the moment. It’s so tough out there, so I’m sending you good vibes.
I would totally work for freelance projects! (I’ve been trying to do that), but I didn’t find many, these are tough times :(
I'll follow your advice! Thanks a lot for your words!
So by the time I’m able to be back to work (3-4-5 months post delivery) it’s going to be a whole year/gap in my resume and that kinda freaks me out. Has anyone been through the same? Any advice? Thoughts? Thanks mamas!
No advice but sending you lots of love and hoping that things work out in your favor, and you have a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery! ❤️
Thanks!!!! It means a lot ❤️
Don’t count yourself out of being able to be hired pregnant. I switched jobs at 7mos. pregnant, was on the job for 6-7 weeks before going into labor, out for 3mos and then came back. There are employers out there who look at the bigger picture of having the right talent and recognize that maternity leave is just a blip in time.
True, but these places are the exception and not the norm. It’s much more commonplace to discriminate against hiring a pregnant woman, and we don’t know how badly OP needs a job.
Do some contract work! Getting laid off during COVID will be a non-issue. Then just say you picked up contracts because you were expecting. Then hop back in after you’re done with your maternity time off :)
