I need support! I’m taking 3 weeks off at the end of the month, and I DREAD the comments that will come my way once I announce the date range. It’s fine with my boss, and I have the time, but I just KNOW some ppl are going to be super bitchy. Advice? And if your advice is to not let them bother me, I agree, but I need advice on how to do that. Thanks!

When people are passive aggressive about my time off, I just whole-heartedly agree with them. "Oh WOW, that's a big chunk of time!" "I know right! How deliciously irresponsible of me!" it really takes the wind out of their sails when they can't make me feel bad.

Thanks!

You took the words of advice right out of my mouth. As far as putting it into practice goes, remind yourself of all the sacrifices and effort you've poured into your job over the years. You've earned that time off, full stop. There is no reason to feel guilty for using it. If anything, you should feel sorry for anyone judging you for it. They clearly have no concept of what WLB is and why it's so important.

I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

I’m trying to transfer departments at my company and I talked to the MD of the department i wanna transfer to, and told him working remotely is a requirement to me, and he said he’s not sure if that’s possible, and that would depend on HR and the hiring manager.
