Hi,
I had received a shortlisting call from Axis Bank. The HR told me link will be shared where I need to update my documents.
I didn't receive any link and HR confirmed that there is some system issue hence link has not come.
Now, it has been 4-5 days, HR is not receiving my calls.
Is someone aware about such issue with Axis Bank HR portal? Axis Bank Ltd

I think this could could spell trouble; however, I agreed to a meet & greet with the potential Assistant Director
I would like your thoughts about this situation & good questions to ask this person at the meet and greet
Thank you in advance!
Additional background and context: The department I would be leading is about 11 people. These are all white men, except my would be boss who is a Black man. I am a Black woman
I am sharing the context because unfortunately, it could very well matter
I would just get to know them. If they are people person and genuine or not. With given role how do they handle pressure. Essentially if I am working close to them, I would just want to know them as person.

That’s going to be a huge difference in company size- that will come as a shock to your system.

So would you have 2 people as assistant directors/ manager? Or do you have to choose between the two?
How much is the pay difference between your director role and these assistant directors?
Are you able to see their resumes? Are they good candidates but just not ready for a director role?
Are your role and the assistant director role new to the company org structure?
Can you interview both the manager and this assistant director candidate and see which you would want in assist director and which as the manager?
Without these questions answered - I’m really concerned as to why the your boss isn’t hiring within for a potential assistant director - especially moving the manager into that role. (Since he tried for the director position)
This manager that applied for the role and got passed over will potentially be passed over 2x if this assistant director is hired. I think it is prudent to have a development plan for this manager to become an assistant director, otherwise you will be backfilling this manager’s role within the next year.
Great call outs/questions
We would both be new employees- potentially starting on the same day
My would-be/soon to be boss shared that the leadership team isn’t impressed with the existing manager’s leadership and that it is likely I wouldn’t be able to lean on him as a strong “second in command”, which I will likely need as I work towards making upgrades/changes to the existing op model and capabilities of the department
I shared with him that my thought is … creating two layers of leadership above the existing manager would be problematic from the standpoint of the organization’s size, but also the message that it would send to the existing manager. And that my preference would be to work with the existing manager to coach him on leadership
My would be/ soon to be boss has arranged a meet and greet for the two of us next week. I have seen his LinkedIn (I can tell he visited mine)
My thoughts are - if he is a fit, hire him in at the same title as the existing Manager and split the team between them. If he is a great people leader, he can serve as a companion/example for the existing manager
My husband has decades of leadership experience (albeit military and government rather than private sector/NPO) offered the following: You will have two white men that wanted (and got rejected) your job on your team. Together, they could cause a whole lot of harm. Wait until you join, assess the team and them create requisitions for the roles you need.
And this occurred to me too
