I realised at one point that I was more focused on avoiding mistakes than doing great work. Have you ever noticed that happening to you?

Yes! When your environment doesn’t support taking risks or the ability to make a mistake, you can’t do great work. It’s just about doing enough to get by and not messing up anywhere.

Exactly! You just have to make sure you do what you need to really.

It definately takes time to get over that feeling.

I relate to this. Tracking changes helps me feel less gaslit by shifting expectations. And priority lists are underrated. When everything feels urgent, having your own anchor makes a huge difference.

A priority list is a great idea! Good advice

Yes it has happened to me

Same here … feel like a shell of what I once was

Fear based and or non-supportive environments are what usually cause staff to make mistakes or have work delays. The environment has a lot to do with the way people perform.

I've gotten the Deloitte D launch orientation survey. Me start date is on the 16th (less than 2 weeks). I've emailed BI onboarding twice, called my recruiter asking if they are ok with background/employment verification check and I've not gotten a response. I need to put in my 2 week notice and all my recuiter has said is I can push your start date out. Has anyone been thru this ? Does getting the D launch orientation email imply everything is good with background/employment checks

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!
